More Figures From Mr. Hezzlewood

Here are some more Hezzlewood figures I animated and painted few years back for a collector.  Interestingly he started a blog and passed them of as his own work. Well, he never signed a Prenuptial Agreement. Anyway, his interest was short lived and he actually gave all the figures back!

Classic 20mm Hezzlewood figures still available in the US from DPC as the RSM/95 range.

Here are the hussars. I am changing the bases to suit Black Powder rules and to get rid of the sand colour. Never did like that finish. I need to build up the numbers for the unit and as the range does not include Elite Company figures I need to start making some busbies.

I have managed to add some British command bases and start to rebase the matching French.

However my favourite work to date is a British Infantry battalion which I have nearly finished basing again. That will be my next post.

Then it is back to the Tumbling Dice WW1.

  1. Love these! It's almost enough to make me rekindle a long dormant interest in (late) Napoleonics, but do it right this time and use those 20mm RSM95 figures.

    1. Clearly a man who recognises style! I must admit to being tempted by the 25mm Tricornes from RSM too-Hezzlewood was a master of the "proportional" figure. No big heads or massive paws.

  2. That's weird about that guy blogging that he had painted them! Of course, as you know I have painted all my Hinton Hunt figures by myself!!!
    Great paint job...

    1. He was a bit of a character! Anyway, he paid for them, then gave the painted ones back and I got to keep the lead pile too!

  3. I had always resisted painting and collecting Napoleonic armies...and then I saw te 20mm RSM range and I was hooked. I had British, French and Austrian armies.

    1. I do not know if I will be able to resist the Austrians too!

  4. As much as I love them, Napoleonics are indeed a black hole and the fast track to madness. A guy could go blind painting them in their thousands, grow hair on his palms, or worse.

  7. Are all of the horses shown the CH-001 "Standing Horse" figure, some of which you "animated"? If so, excellent work!

    1. There are two horse poses here, the standing and walking pose if I recall correctly...incredibly it has been nearly 8 years since this post - I am a very slow collector.
